Read before your next round of Kalah Mancala
Try Kalah Mancala at your own pace and keep its objective in view. When either row of six pits is empty, remaining seeds go to their owner’s store. The larger store wins. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Use the example below to understand a decision.
Practice with a purpose
Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Use the example to check your reasoning.
The goal to keep in mind
When either row of six pits is empty, remaining seeds go to their owner’s store. The larger store wins. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Keep the controls in easy reach.
Step by step
- Player 1 uses the bottom six pits; Player 2 uses the top six.
- Choose a non-empty pit on your side and sow its seeds one at a time.
- Include your own store but skip the opponent’s store. Ending in your store grants another turn.
- Ending in an empty pit on your own side captures that seed and the opposite seeds, when the opposite pit is non-empty.
Choosing and moving on screen
Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Check any mode label before starting.
Follow the example
If your last seed reaches your store, you move again. If your row becomes empty, both stores are settled immediately. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Verify the rule before continuing.
One detail worth checking
The stores are scoring areas, not pits you can choose. These are Kalah rules, not every Mancala variant. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
